Litigator to Judicial Officer Perspective from the Bench of Common Litigation Pitfalls WEBINAR
February 7, 2023, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
The Honorable Judge LaQunya L. Baker
Arapahoe County Court Judge
Approved for 1 HR DEI credit
The Honorable Judge LaQunya L. Baker will give her perspective as a newly appointed judge to the Arapahoe County Court Civil Bench on common issues litigators run into while litigating county court civil trials, small claims trials, protection order hearings, and eviction proceedings. We will explore what practices from civil litigators have worked well, as well as areas where attorneys could improve. Additionally, this CLE will explore how litigators interact with the bench when practicing in front of judges of color and female judges, and ways to check your own implicit bias at the door of the courthouse to combat misogyny and racism in the judicial system.
Hosted Happy Hour to follow.
